You might also bring a watch, batteries for your calculator, a bag, drinks and snacks. If you’re taking the test at a school you don’t attend, you’ll also need an approved photo ID. You may also bring an external mouse or external keyboard. You’ll also need a pencil or pen and an approved calculator. On test day, bring a fully charged device with the PSAT/NMSQT app installed and a power cord. See the College Board’s website for more information about when the PSAT/NMSQT is offered. Testing takes place in October each year, usually during the school day. If your school does not offer the PSAT/NMSQT, or if you’re homeschooled, you can talk to your school counselor about taking the test at another school. Your school or district will determine whether and when to offer the test you won’t have to take extra steps to register. In most cases, you’ll take the PSAT/NMSQT at the high school you attend.
